VR (Virtual Reality)
MATTERPORT DETAILS
Matterport offers a wide variety in functionality, such as:
BLUR FACES
After we finish scanning and uploading a model, it is possible to enable BlurFaces in the interactive virtual tour, to avoid recognition of persons.
NAME & SUMMARY BOX
In addition to links to external websites, it is also possible to add multimedia to Matterta Posts such as:
-
Images
-
Audio
-
Videos, such as from YouTube or Vimeo
-
And much more ...
LABELS
So called 'lables' can be added to the top view floorplan.
The text on these labels can help the viewer to see what part of the interactive virtual tour one is looking at.
Next, it is possible to click that section to enter the 3D environment again.
MATTERTAG
Mattertags in an interactive virtual tour can be used as hyperlinks to e.g. external websites. Mattertags are shown as clickable bullets. Bullits are available in different colors.
Through a bullit-connection-line it is possible to show the relation between the viewer pop-up and a certain part of the interactive virtual tour.
MATTERTAG VIDEO
In addition to hyperlinks to external websites you can also add multimedia to an interactive virtual tour. Examples of Mattertag posts are:
-
Images
-
Text
-
Audio
-
and more ...
HIGH LIGHT REEL
-
With Matterport Workshop you can easily create a Highlight Reel and a Guided Tour of a Matterport Space.
-
A Highlight Reel shows all of your Snapshots in a filmstrip at the bottomof 3D Showcase.
-
A Guided Tour automatically moves you through the Highlight Reel justby pressing play.
-
-
At any point in a Guided Tour you can stop and explore a Space in more detail.
-
Guided Tours also make great promotional videos. Use screen recordingsoftware while the tour is playing and edit the footage into your marketing video.
2D HIGH RESOLUTION SNAP SHOT
-
It is possible to take simple, flat 2D Snapshots from a Matterport Space, in high resolution if required.
-
These flat 2D Snapshots can be used for both print and digital.
-
We can download the 2D Snapshots as simple JPEG or PNG files, at different positions in the interactive virtual tour:
-
Inside View, Dollhouse View, Floorplan View, 360º View
-
-
Further details with regard to download size in pixels :
-
8092 x 4552 (70% zoom; print size at 300 DPI is 68 x 38 cm)
-
5664 x 3186 (100% zoom; print size at 300 DPI is 48 x 27 cm)
-
2832 x 1593 (200% zoom; print size at 300 DP is 24 x 14 cm)
-
1888 x 1062 (300% zoom; print size at 300 PDI is 16 x 9 cm )
-
SINGLE 360 SNAP SHOT
-
It is possible to download as many 360º Snapshots from the Matterport Space as you like, from any position you prefer.
-
A 360º Snapshot is the same spherical, panorama imagerythat you see in 3D Showcase.
-
To 'explore' the 360 image you must use a specific tool for editing and viewing 360º images, such as Pano2VR.
-
Subsequently is it possible to upload to social media such as Facebook or Instagram.
SCHEMATIC FLOOR PLAN
-
Schematic Floor Plans are a great way to see an entire space at a glance, from another perspective.
-
They’re great for people who want a more traditional, top-down view of the interactive virtual tour object.
OBJECT FILE IMAGE
We combine 3D depth data with 2D visual data to create a textured 3D mesh that is the OBJ file. We sample the OBJ file to create the Dollhouse View in 3D Showcase.
To open we recommend Maya, 3D Studio Max, or Meshlab. For Maya, you may need to convert the OBJ into an FBX file. If you prefer SketchUp you will need a plug-in to import OBJ objects.
CEILING PLAN
-
For architecture, engineering, and construction customers.
-
Same as the high resolution floor plans, but a quick vertical view of everything on the ceiling.
-
See ventilation shafts, wiring, plumbing, insulation, andmore.
FLOOR PLAN
-
For architecture, engineering, and construction customers.
-
It gives you a quick top-down view of the job site and everything inside it.
-
The floor plan can be used in AutoCAD as a tracing element.
-
It opens in 3ds Max, Maya, or other 3D software.
-
The floorplan is just a unique, orthogonal view of the 3D mesh.
-
It is also possible to make your own views/slices of the 3D mesh by manipulating the OBJ file yourself.
POINT CLOUD
-
For architecture, engineering, and construction customers.
-
Object files can be opened in Recap, Revit, or AutoCAD and jump-start your as-built designs.
-
Fully automatic point cloud registration of all sweeps (setups).
-
Colorized based on the 360º panorama imagery and accurate towithin 1% of reality.
TEASER VIDEO
-
After completion of the interactive virtual tour it is possible to automatically generate a so called teaser video.
-
The teaser video will be available as a MP4 or animated GIF, that shows a quick preview of the space.
-
The teaser video can be uploaded to social media such as Facebook and/or Twitter.
-
The animated GIF version of the video can be used in mail correspondence, whereby there can be a direct link between the 'icon' and the interactive virtual tour.
Publishing to Google Street View is an exciting new way for you to extend yourmarketing so you and your business can reach an even bigger audience.
What can you publish? Try these possibilities:
-
Business Listings — retail and restaurants
-
Places of Interest — museums and landmarks
-

-
Vacation & Short Term Rentals — nightly rentals only
-
Commercial Real Estate — office spaces
LEICA BLK 360
-
If the object to big big to produce an interactive virtual tour the regular way, it is possible to use the Leica BLK 360 camera.
-
Another advantage of this camera is that it's deals with infrared light better that the regular MatterUse the Leica BLK360 and the Matterport Capture app to create one unique Matterport model of a site. Scanning is simple, regardless of whether youare more familiar with Matterport Pro/Pro2 or the Leica BLK360.
-
Upload the model to Matterport Cloud (my.matterport.com) for processing.
-
The Matterport URL can be shared with stakeholders, so they can remotely explore the space.
-
The Matterport Pro2 3D Camera and the Leica BLK360 are complementaryscanning devices. You can use them together to create one Matterport model. Which device you choose depends on what you are scanning and what yourneeds are at the time.
